OUR GOALS

Jesus said, "Let the little chidren come to Me and do not hinder them; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Physical Development

Large and small muscle coordination will be developed through outdoor activities (climbing, throwing and catching balls, running, jumping, riding tricycles, etc.) and quiet indoor activities (coloring, cutting, pasting, puzzles, and other manipulative educational toys). Full-day students will be encouraged to sleep or lie quietly during the two-hour rest period each day. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided.

Social/Emotional Development

A positive, wholesome attitude and appreciation toward self and others will be emphasized. The children will be encouraged to share materials, respect the rights of others, and solve problems in a positive and appropriate manner.

Intellectual Development

Oral language and listening skills will be enhanced through a thematic and/or experiential approach. A comprehensive readiness program in reading, math, science and the arts will be included in thematic units. Learning centers will provide hands-on, self-directed experience to stimulate and challenge the children to discover that learning is fun!

Excursions, special activities, visits from community helpers, etc., will be a significant part of the curriculum to help reinforce learning. Role play will provide opportunities for problem solving in their daily activities.

Spiritual Development

Daily prayer time and weekly chapel sessions will be a part of the children's schedule to develop an understanding of God's love which is founded in His Son, Jesus Christ and in the Bible. Songs of praise, prayer, and Bible stories that teach basic moral concepts will be part of their training.
